Daylight Saving is right around the corner! Don’t get caught sleeping in and try out these simple ways to adjust to the shift in time.

Adjust Your Schedule

If you don’t want to make the adjustment for one whole hour, try shifting up your daily routine in 15 minute increments to gradually get used to the change. You can sleep a little earlier every night leading up to daylight saving, or start waking up slightly earlier every day.

Use Natural Light

You might not know this, but sunlight plays a large part in our energy levels. Starting your morning off with natural light will help you feel more awake and alert. Natural light signals to your body to wake up and begin your day. Letting sunlight in at the new, earlier hour will help you adjust.

Don’t Eat Late

During daylight saving time, it is best to avoid eating food close to when you go to bed. Eating right before can cause you to lower your quality of sleep as your body is still digesting and is not fully resting. It can cause discomfort or lead you to use the restroom in the middle of the night.
